Ammonium Polyphosphte is a halogen-free flame retardant widely applied in construction, automotive and electrical industries. It functions via an intumescent mechanism, forming a protective char layer to insulate substrates and block oxygen penetration.
Ammonium Polyphosphte can be used in textile coating, intumescent fireproof coatings and thermoset resins, such as polyurethane, UP resin and epoxy resin. It can also be used in the retardant of fiber, wood, rubber and plastic products. Due to its high molecular weight (n>1000) and good heat stability, Ammonium Polyphosphte can be used as main ingredient of expanding retardant thermoplastic, especially used in the PP achieving UL94-V0 for electronic unit.
