Dodecylbenzene Sulfonic Acid(LBASA) is a widely used anionic surfactant and detergent intermediate. It is an organic acid derived from linear alkylbenzene sulfonation, typically with a dodecyl alkyl chain, hence the name. LABSA acts as wetting and emulsifying agent for agrochemical herbicides and emulsion polymerization, bridging polar and nonpolar components to mix oil with water or minerals. It is core feedstock for laundry detergents, various soaps and specialty anionic products, works as textile washing/mercerizing agent, and is dosed minimally with other surfactants for foaming toilet soap production.
